The Be, Do, Have Model Explained

Have you noticed that the more you do and strive and try, the harder it seems to be to get anywhere in life? This is where the Be, Do, Have model comes in!

Using this method can instantly change the way you operate, how you feel about your life, and ultimately it can change your reality. It’s powerful stuff.

If you’re feeling frustrated with where you are at and feel like you’re not getting what you want, then this is for you.

Believe me; I’ve been in this place of constant frustration, anxiety, and stress. I know it well, and it’s not nice. I lived in a state of frustration until I adopted the Be, Do, Have model from my mentor and coach, Jim Fortin, and this is why I want to share this powerful approach with you. It made powerful changes in my life, and I know it can do the same for you.

Are you ready to take the first steps towards your transformation?

Many of us think we need to have “things” in order to be someone or get somewhere, but it actually works the other way around. It’s all too familiar to think “If I had more money, more support, or more stuff, then I could do more, be happy and successful”. However, this is living from a victim mentality. Believing that a lack of XYZ is “making” you unhappy and unsuccessful serves no one and is getting you nowhere, fast. It’s a broken model, one that doesn’t serve your higher purpose and one that holds you back.

Living along the lines of, the more you do, the more you’ll have and the more you have, the happier you will be, is what is holding you back from a life lived with purpose, fulfillment, and confidence. Look at it this way, the more you have, the more you have to lose, which means you get stuck in the cycle of needing to “get” more and more. You only need to read the literature and articles around psychology and fulfillment to realise that this method does not bring happiness.

“If you want to change what you have in your life, you need to change the way that you’re being”
– David Balshaw

How to live with the Be, Do, have model.

The first thing you need to do is to embody the person you want to become. This enables you to do and think in new ways that are consistent with the reality and the type of person you want to create.

This comes down to the “identity” level that I have previously discussed in this podcast episode  (What you think you want, you don’t need!) Whom you identify with and what you think is who you are. If you want to change what you have in your life, you need to change how you’re being and whom you’re identifying as. The great thing about that is that you get to choose what you think.

So, I ask you, how do you see yourself? And, who are you showing up as in your life? We have the power of choice in any given moment. We get to choose our state of being. Isn’t that powerful!?

“You have a choice to be happy, whether you’ve got everything or you’ve got nothing.”
– David Balshaw

How to practice being the person you want to become?

Think of a goal or a dream that you have, something you really want. Then explore how this thing or state of being will make you feel. Will you feel fulfillment, joy, freedom, or abundance? Take some time to sit with this and explore the feeling this achievement will give you.

Now start to embody this feeling, and the state of being that comes with the goal you are imagining. Perhaps you feel strong, successful, and confident? Or peaceful and at ease?

From this place, explore the type of person you are with this sought-after goal. What drives this new man? What routine does he follow to be this person? Who does he spend his time with, and where does he choose to spend his energy?

From your fresh perspective and embodiment of this new man, this new you, you can now start to make decisions and actions from this new state of being.

You will find yourself making decisions from a state of abundance and confidence instead of from a state of lack and scarcity. Your actions will now be aligned with this new state of being you are dreaming of, and you will naturally create scenarios that will bring about your desired outcome. The magic with the be, do, have model is that what we end up doing winds up actually bringing us the things that we’ve always wanted to have.

The profound impact of living in alignment with this “Be, Do, Have” paradigm is mindblowing, and yet the method itself can appear too easy to be true. Surely life is supposed to be grueling and arduous?

I have news for you, my brother. Life doesn’t have to be hard!
